When a divorcing wealthy coupled sought to wage ‘litigation war’ against one another, running up legal bills of more than £2.7 million in the process, the presiding Judge was unsympathetic.
Accusing the pair of trying to engage in ‘forensic points-scoring’ against one another, Mr Justice Moynahan concluded that the £60million fortune the couple had amassed, which included homes in the UK; The Turks and Caicos Islands; should be divided nearly equally between them.
Finding them equally culpable for the extended litigation, he refused to make a costs order, forcing each one to pay their own legal bills.
